2. Shine a spotlight on secondary conflicts, including various rebellions, plots, and insurgencies
3. Put an emphasis on diplomacy, and widening the conflict into new theaters/countries
4. Where verisimilitude conflicts with gameplay, always choose gameplay
5. Where possible, force conflicts in multiple theaters to make the scenario as global as possible
